Mos Def performing August 1st
The Black Star/"Sweding" wonder that is Mos Def will be in First Avenue's Mainroom on August 1st with Jay Electronica.
Mos Def is more than a hip-hop genius, although he has produced some of the most socially and politically fueled tracks in current history especially on Hurricane Katrina. From Bill Cosby's The Cosby Detectives, Mos Def went on to act in Monster's Ball, Be Kind Rewind, Something The Lord Made and more recently as Chuck Berry in Cadillac Records. He has interviewed Al Gore and appeared on Bill Maher's show to voice his opinion on The Jena Six and the war on terror.
Mos Def released The Ecstatic this past June with tracks featuring such artists as Madlib and Black Star's Talib Kewli.
Tickets for Mos Def go on sale tomorrow. They are $33.50 in advance and $35.00 at the door and sightline seating is available. The doors open at 6PM (18+).
