Hey First Ave Friends! Looking for a way to hype yourself up before you celebrate the birth of our nation? The Roots show Friday night in First Avenue's Mainroom is just what you need. The Roots usually do extensive touring but have since taken a break to be Jimmy Fallon's house band on the Late Night Show. Don't miss your chance to see them take a break to play in Minneapolis. Tickets are $30 and the show starts at 6PM (18+).

Later in the week on July 5th Rock Plaza Central will be playing in the Entry. Rock Plaza Central plays with a variety of instruments, including mandolin, violin, horns, banjo and accordian to provide quirky, likable tunage. Tickets are $6 and the show starts at 8PM (18+).

If you're a fan of bands with morbid, fetal imagery in their names or just like to rock out then you should know the Summer Slaughter Tour is just right around the corner on July 9th. The show starts at 1PM and is for people of all ages. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 and the door.
